Gnome


I'm using Slackware 9 and everytime I try to start up Gnome it gives me an error; what's the problem?

Before we can tell you what the problem is, you need to tell us what the error message is!

Always try to supply as much information as possible when you ask a question on this forum... It's hard to help you if we don't know what's going on...

There was an erorr starting the GNOME Settings Daemon

Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.

The settings Daemon restarted too many times

The last error message was:

Child process did not give an error message, unknown failure occurred

GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.
