Generic USB Optical Mouse not working
I know there have been several threads regarding this, but I haven't had any luck. After installing Slack 10 and starting X, my mouse didn't work. No light from the base or anything. It works fine under my Windows boot. I searched Google and the forums here.
I edited my xorg.conf file to be:
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Buttons" "5"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
After that I rebooted and started X again; No luck.
I've tried setting Protocol to IMPS/2 and Auto.
I've tried setting DEice to /dev/mouse, /dev/input/mice, /dev/input/mouse0, /dev/input/mouse1.
I'm just using the standard kernel from the install disk bare.i.
My Slackware install is part of a dual boot with Windows XP Home on a Dell Dimension 8400.
Does anyone have any clue what I'm messing up, or how I can fix this?
