gdmsetup, is there a replacement?

Hope this isn't redundant... I previously was using 9.1 and used gdmsetup to automatically log in as a user from a bootup (power failure controlled by a UPS), then automatically run an x program.

I see gdmsetup is not in the new distros. Do you think it is possible to bring /usr/bin/gdmsetup from 9.1 into 12.1 without breaking things. I am reluctant to try it until I have some sort of confidence in this.

Other than that, is there some other way to go from a bootup, log in as a user (including pw). Autostart will work from this point on.

Thx... Tom

The gdmsetup was part of Gnome, which was removed from the Slackware distribution several years ago.
KDM, the KDE equivalent of Gnome's GDM, has a similar functionality to let a user account login automatically when the computer boots.

Forget about bringing over gdm/gdmsetup from your old 9.1 release.

Thx Eric, took a little digging to find the setup dialog, but works great.
