Changes to configuration:
CONFIG_SCSI_ISCSI_ATTRS=m
# CONFIG_BCMA is not set
CONFIG_BRCMSMAC=m
CONFIG_SCSI_ISCSI_ATTRS was made modular since the iSCSI userspace will not
work with it built in. This change disallows building the QLogic 40xx
(ISP4XXX) and 8022 (ISP82XX) into the huge kernel, but for the same reason
those would not have worked for installation anyway.
CONFIG_BCMA was turned off because including it prevents building the
Broadcom BRCMSMAC driver, which is the only working choice for several
adapters other than the proprietary wl driver. Unfortunately, removing
BCMA removes support for bcm4331 from the b43 driver. However, adding the
BRCMSMAC causes several new adaptors to gain support, including some that
are becoming quite common in recent laptops, so overall this change should
be a net gain.

I just noticed that gimp has been upgraded to 2.8.0. That is cool!
That is a reason for me to upgrade to the next stable release of Slackware ... whenever it is ready.
Willy - Thanks for your instructions/advice/info on how to build gimp 2.8.0. I got it up and running successfully on my Slackware 13.37 system. The single window mode is so much more convenient with fvwm.

I think it means the oposite: that java version (openjdk) wil be the one included as it doesn't got the same licensing restrictions of the Oracle's binaries.
BTW, thanks to Pat and the crew for the huge update, especially for the glib/gtk one: gtk+3 is in -current! \o/
( and I'm on holiday with a tethering connection until the end of july, bummer! )

Thanks for the updates!
There seems to be a problem with the new mkinitrd. The /init script reports "/sbin/udevadm not found" in lines 303, 307 and 308 during boot.

and i notice that we use slackpkg upgrade-all, we would have problems after gnutls being upgraded since wget is still linked to the old gnutls.
If you wanted to use slackpkg upgrade-all, make sure that you have upgraded wget, p11-kit and gnutls first
seems that p11-kit is missing in 32 bit -Current

Same problem here. You may as well configure for
in /etc/slackpkg/slackpkg.conf. This forces slackpkg to download all the packages before performing the operation "slackpkg upgrade-all".

Actually, it's due to missing p11-kit, otherwise, it would have been installed when we performed slackpkg install-new

nettle is needed for wget to run. I've had to download it with another computer after the system broke ;-)

Oh gracious BDFL
Small request with regard to the changelog text.
Would it be possible to list all the removed packages and all the added packages at the start of the changelog?
I feel that this would make upgrading easier and lead to less threads about broken systems on LQ.

Hi,
my systems (slackware64-current) are running now after the massive upgrade. It seems that one has to do
Code:
slackpg install-new
at first. Also be sure that you configure for DOWNLOAD_ALL=on in /etc/slackpkg/slackpkg.conf
Problem is that gnutls, p11 and nettle have to be upgraded/installed in order to get the upgraded version of wget running. On my server where DOWNLOAD_ALL=on is configured the "slackpkg upgrade-all" went well, but since wget was broken I could not run "slackpkg install-new".
I had to rebuild google-chrome.
USB was no longer working until I rebooted the system.
