Folder Permissions Issue

hey, I coppied my MP3 folder from an NTFS drive to my Linux partition, but only my Root account can access it. How can I access it through a normal account? Thanks

'chown *put-user-here*:users filename'
Or 'chmod 777 filename'
Type these in a command-line/terminal.

grr..

Ok, that worked for me, but now I still can't PLAY the mp3s... when I add the files and folders it just skips through every song really fast when I try to play a file.. am I doing something horribly wrong?

Thanks..
