I guess after 14 years of running Linux exclusively and installing it on all kinds of server and desktop hardware on a daily basis, you end up getting used to it. Sort of.

And I guess regular experience of FAIL helps you to practice finding answers in Google Search. Take a wild guess how I found that running a Windows Vista or 7 BIOS flash under Windows XP can end in disaster... it took *months* to fix that but all the answers were already out there, in the second or third page of search results. Actually the real skill is deciding which answers are total rubbish. Stack Exchange makes that easy, by always marking the worst answer with a big green tick
