firefox/kde color palette clash

Hi!

I've searched but don't find anything. Maybe I just don't know the exact/correct terminology and that's keeping me from finding the solution, so IAIA (I Apologize In Advance)!

The problem is I have just installed 10.2 and I'm using the KDE (startx) default. When I fire up firefox (no pun intended!, it changes the color palette and the KDE apps all go into "Day Glow Crazies" land. As soon as I iconize firefox, it returns to normal.

I've since downloaded and installed Opera and the problem doesn't exist there, but I'd still like to know what's going on and how I can correct it (don't like mysteries!:-O)

The upside is, from searching, I did find out possibly how I might get my mouse wheel working! So, the search was not a total waste.

TIA,
Dave S.
