I'm about to build ffmpeg (3.1.2) for my new 14.2 64-bit system.
I had previously built ffmpeg (2.7.0) in slackware 14.1 64-bit.
I didn't install tetex, but built and installed texlive-2016.
I noticed that texi2html (required for building ffmpeg) was not present.
But texi2any is, and it has an '--html' option.
I was wondering if creating a symbolic link named texi2html
to the command 'texi2any --html' would prevent the ffmpeg configure
sending me an error.
texi2html is dead, i would follow the advice of
guanx. I'll ask the SBo-ffmpeg maintainer what he thinks about removing the texi2html-check.
Even without tetex/texlive installed this would work, as texi2any is provided by the texinfo package.
turns out texi2html is not needed.
The configure script, after detecting there was no texi2html, switched to makeinfo
(which is a symbolic link to texi2any).
So I was able to build ffmpeg (I removed the check for texi2html presence in the SlackBuild).
