Unhappy Ext3 root partition read only error on boot

Hi, everybody. I have just installed Slackware 10.2, but when I try to boot it, this error occurs:

testing root filesystem status: read-only filesystem
checking root filesystem:
fsck 1.38
/dev/hda3: ext3 journal superblock has an unknown read-only feature
/dev/hda3: unexpected inconsistency; run fsck manually.

*****
an error occured during the root filesystem chevk. You will now be given a chance to log into the system in single-user mode to fix the problem.
*****

Any ideas on how to fix my partition to not being ro?
Thank you in advance.

There may be a problem with your fstab. So, boot up using a Live CD like KNOPPIX, and from there browse to your partition's /etc/fstab file. Open that up in a text editor, and you should see a line like this among any others:

Code:
/dev/hda3	/	ext3	defaults 1	1
If it is different to that, try changing it to the above line - that may help solve the problem (defaults includes rw).

It wasn't that. Obviously there was something wrong with the partition (I had formatted it under windows with Acronis). I reinstalled slackware, but this time choosing to format the partition and the problem was fixed.
