Eterm-0.9.4 compile error!

i am attempting to compile Eterm-0.9.4 on Slackware 11. when i attempt to make install i get the following error:

./.libs/libEterm.so: undefined reference to `imlib_free_pixmap_and_mask'

i googled the error and did not see any reference to it, in English. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks all.
