dropline issue

I installed dropline gnome, full. After running xwmconfig and choosing gnome i run startx as root and evetything worked out fine.
The thing is that when i run startx as user the fonts are missing and i can't run some programs. I figured that this is because gnome was trying to read several things from a directory called garnome wich is located in root's home and like me as user can't access it I'm having this problem.

The only solution i've managed so far was to change the permissions of the root's home folder, in this case everything works fine as user but i think that this is not the best solution...

Any suggestion? Thanks

Never worked with dropline gnome, but I wonder about this "garnome" directory in /root ... wasn't there a question during install about where to create that directory? I can't imagine that all those who came before you only ran Dropline as root.

Yep, running dropline-installer as root is fine. I would suggest you post your problem on dropline gnome forum. Folks there are nice and would help you solve your problem...frankly I've never experienced such a problem so I won't be able to help more that just point to dropline forums.

Good Luck

My guess is that it's from an external package. I cannot duplicate this on any of my systems and don't have anything that refers to gargnome in the least. You may be able to search through your package logs for "gargnome". Something like:

egrep gargnome /var/log/packages/*

Did you ever install any other GNOME or X11 packages?
