Download files from url
In the process of trying to get Wine to work on Slackware 14 64bit I'm stuck at an embarrassingly trivial step:
How do I download Alien Bob's files from this location:
http://slackware.com/~alien/multilib...re64-compat32/?
I mean download the the folders, sub-folders and all the files at once. I'm using Firefox. Tried the add-on Iget by it doesn't seem to do anything.
Thanks!

I use lftp. It works with HTTP sites and has a mirror command.
Code:
% lftp
lftp :~> open http://slackware.com/~alien/multilib
cd: received redirection to `http://www.slackware.com/~alien/multilib/'
cd ok, cwd=~alien/multilib
lftp www.slackware.com:~alien/multilib> mirror 14.0

You could use gFTP. Launcher > Applications > Internet. Then just copy the address and paste into the connect to field and hit the two terminals button. Worked for me anyhow.

Type in a terminal :
Code:
lftp -c "open http://slackware.com/~alien/multilib/14.0 ; mirror slackware64-compat32"
All your files will go in the local folder slackware64-compat32.

I use
Code:
wget -r --no-parent url
-r for Recursive and --no-parent so it doesn't follow "Parent Directory" links

Thanks, all great replies. In the meantime the internet connection on my virtual Slackware machine seems to be broken but once I get that sorted I'll try wget and lftp.
