Display not found error on slackware


Hello,

After logging in, sometimes randomly GUI programs will stop launching. No apps will launch from the application menu nor will they run if I try to launch them from terminal, restarting fixes the issue.

BTW I did remove KDE once because I dont use KDE. But after facing these issues. I reinstalled KDE but the problem is still there.

hi arifur,

I remember a similar thread some time ago and the cause that time was that the hostname was set incorrectly: please have a look if it applies

Thanks for pointing me to that thread. The solution seems to have fixed the issue.
