Debugging Nautilus

I filed a bug for Nautilus but to provide better help to the developers I need a complete stacktrace of the crash. For this I need to recompile nautilus with debugging symbols, unfortunately I have no idea how to do this I tried compiling nautilus with "--enable-debug" and run it with GDB (I used this link: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace) but then I still don't get an entire stacktrace after a crash. So does anyone know or can someone explain me how to best debug Nautilus?

Some things to check for:

0) Make sure that you don't have to use any other special flags to enable debuggin (some programs like to have a "development/" or ".debug" or funny stuff like that to properly enable debugging)

1) Make sure that you did NOT strip the binary (you can use "file nautilus", and it should tell you if it's stripped or not).

If you got a coredump while you were not debuggin (under GDB), you can use "gdb nautilus <coredump_filename>" and you should be able to backtrace from that.

As for the best way to debug nautilus, you should ask its developer, they should know better than anyone.
