Cyrus cyradm error (cyradm: cannot connect to server)
Trying to add users to Cyrus using the cyradm function and I get that error, cyradm: cannot connect to server. I can ping localhost and get a response, as well as ping 127.0.0.1 and get a response but for some reason Cyrus is not being accepted, or correctly trying to connect.
I know absolutely nothing about Cyrus, but a Google search of your error pops up this page. Did you happen to see this? It states they were able to fix the issues by uncommenting other service lines in the cyrus.conf file. Specifically, they said the imap service is required for login.
Also, looking on SBo, there is a README.SLACKWARE that gives some additional commands on getting it set up. Have you ran those?
Check your /var/log/messages and search if cyrus started successfully.
The start script of cyrus doesn't show errors in a case of cyrus failed to start.
I don't exactly see how this is a Slackware related question?
Apart from that, you provide us with exactly zero information. Pinging localhost will always get you a result. It will tell you absolutely nothing about the network services you may or may not be running on your computer.
Try better. I am running Cyrus IMAP here at home but I am not going to spoonfeed you.

Thank you. I did indeed read this.. my error was in a misconfig.
