COmpiling problems on slackware-current
Hi,
My Slack system has been updated since 9.0 now current (with swaret) i always could compile from source but yesterday i try to compile something with #sh configure (as usual) and i got this error:
root@Zer0Slack:/home/anibal/tmp/guarddog-2.3.1# /bin/bash ./configure
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu

checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for style of include used by make... GNU

checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out
checking whether the C compiler works... configure: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
If you meant to cross compile, use `--host'.
See `config.log' for more details.
i'm using gcc 3.3.3 & i have every page needed to compile (i always use to compile)
this is is the log of config.log:
This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.
It was created by configure, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.59. Invocation command line was
$ ./configure

It says
configure:2643: ./a.out
./configure: line 1: ./a.out: Permission denied
So it looks when a program is compiled it can't be started. Do you have umask set in a special way?
I'd make a small C file, example
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
int main(void){
printf("Hello world!\n");
return 0;
}
Then compile it using 'gcc progname.c' and try to run (output should be a.out). Does it print 'Hello world' or produce an error?
