cmake version 2.8.7 needed

I am using slackware 13.1 . I was trying to compile/install a program that told me it needed at least cmake 2.8.7. Slackware 13.1 only installed 2.8.1. So I went to my 14.1 version and took/installed cmake-2.8.12. I than ran the compile program again for my application and now it comes back with the error:
cmake: error loading shared libraries: libarchive.so.13: cannot open shared object file. No such file or directory.

How can I fix this, without upgrading to Slackware 14.1 ??

If that's what you meant, instead of installing in Slackware 13.1 the package intended for Slackware 14.1 you should rebuild in Slackware 13.1 a package for cmake re using the build material provided in /source, just replacing the source tarball with a more recent one and setting the VERSION parameter accordingly.

EDIT In this case you don't have to edit VERSION as it is computed by the SlackBuild, but (re)move the old tarball then to avoid rebuilding the old package.
