cant install k3b


i extracted the file and it created a usr, install, and opt folder in my home directory, i dont like to be unorganized so i put them all in a folder called K3B

now i know the next thing i gotta do is ./configure, but where the hell is the ./configure - ive looked in all the folders and cant find anything

wtf?

don't extract it
type "installpkg [package name]" from a console

ok so for future reference, how would i know which programs to do that on, every program ive installed has been a .tar.gz that ive extracted, ./configure, make, make install balh blah blah

it installed, but now im confused on how to tell if its a package....if it has a .tgz extension???

any file you download from www.linuxpackages.net
will be a slackware package

others...basically if they only contain etc usr install
and inside install you see doinstall.sh and slack-desc
it is a slackware package
