Canon Pixma MG6250 stopped printing as user but prints as root

Hello,

My printer Canon Pixma MG6250 recently stopped printing as normal user. When I click "print", I can see some preparation going on the printer display and then everything stops. The print queue is empty, I couldn't find any errors in any file in /var/log.

It used to print from Libre Office as normal user but not from Okular. Now this is not working either.

Today I logged in as root and tried to print - everything was fine and clear.
Then I logged in as my user but the printer did the same nasty trick.

Any ideas?

First guess: ensure your user is a member of the lp group.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I did it but nothing changed. I've been installing Slackware at work for 3 years now and never used "lp" group. Yet users print without problems on usb and ipp connection. I've almost forgotten the "lp" group exists.

Thanks anyway

Problem solved. Installed Canon drivers, removed printer, added printer and now it prints .
