Can't get data from usb GPS

I just got a USB GPS stick (gisteq gr-110) I can't figure out where it is being loaded to so I can get gpsd to read it. I'm running 12.2.

The PL2303 is the most common chip in cheap USB to Serial adapters. Not all of them are actually this chip, as some copies seem to use the same IDs

You may have to set the serial speed to get NMEA data, try 9600 bps

You may be correct about having to set the baud, I still do not know where it was mounted.

UPDATE: I seem to be gaining on it. I am building the USB->serial kernel modules. I thought I had built those in already.

UPDATE2: That seems to have been the answer as dmesg now shows it being mounted on /dev/ttyUSB0

I did, yes. The problem was that I did not have the USB -> serial modules in the Kernel.

Subject changed to [SOLVED]
