Bluetooth and Nokia 6230

Hi All

Has anyone been able to get gnokii working over bluetooth with a nokia 6230.
I cant get this to work.

I have the bluetooth software rfcomm hcitool etc - and this works fine as I can get the phone to dial out using minicom.

gnokii however doesnt seem to work.
Perhaps I have the wrong options configured in the gnokiirc file ?

Slackware 10.1

Thanx for the help (if any)
cheers.

Hi, I'm here, also with Slack 10.1, a 6230, and gnokii

Here's my configuration file (/etc/gnokiirc):

***start***

[global]
port = 00:11:9F:5A:AD:F1
#Gnokii treats the 6230 as a 6510; similar, but not everything works on it.
model = 6510
initlength = default
connection = bluetooth
use_locking = no
serial_baudrate = 19200
rfcomm_channel = 1
smsc_timeout = 10

***end***

Hi

Thanx a lot for the reply. I dunno why but when i install gnokki i get no bluetooth support, so I found another program and that one works just fine.

Have you found any way to send a fax using your phone? It seems that that service is not available on the 6230. This is what i was trying to get at from the beginning all the rest is just stuff that im picking up on the way.

Thanx again for the reply

cheers

Unhappy trouble getting gnokii to work

Hello,
I have just configured my usb bluetooth on a dell inspiron 6000 and I cant get gnokii working.
I have got "sdptool browser" returning loads of services from the phone.
But whe I run gnokii I get this:

GNOKII Version 0.6.5
LOG: debug mask is 0x1
LOG: rlpdebug mask is 0x1
LOG: xdebug mask is 0x1
phone instance config:
model: 6510
port_device: 00:10:c6:91:bc:95
connection_type: 5
init_length: 0
serial_baudrate: 19200
serial_write_usleep: -1
hardware_handshake: 0
require_dcd: 0
smsc_timeout: 100
connect_script:
disconnect_script:
rfcomm_cn: 14
sm_retry: off
Connecting
Serial device: opening device 00:10:c6:91:bc:95
Can't connect: No route to host
Couldn't open PHONET device: No route to host
Error in link initialisation: 1
Telephone interface init failed: Command failed.
Quitting.
Serial device: closing device

any ideas how I sort this out ?

thanks

No route to host

Hi, I'm facing the same problem(in Pardus but it doesn't matter)

In http://www.gnokii.org/faq.shtml#irda , they suggest using
Code:
pkot@bzzzt:~$ echo 115200 > /proc/sys/net/irda/max_baud_rate
for irda. We're using bluetooth. What can be done?
Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks...

Code:
emre@192 ~ $ gnokii --identify
GNOKII Version 0.6.14
Can't connect: No route to host
Couldn't open PHONET device: No route to host
Telephone interface init failed: Command failed.
Quitting.
Command failed.

Hi,

I've found a solution in the IRC room of gnokii.

They told me that there's an mismatch of rfcomm ports. So that gnokii can't connect.

I changed my configurations to fit the ones written in the page below:
http://lists.usefulinc.com/pipermail...ly/000940.html

Now it works! I could send sms on console, get my phonebook via xgnokii but couldn't get my sms stored in my phone. xgnokii broke down (with no response for a long time) when I pressed sms button, and in the console, gnokii --getsms SM 1 responsed a time out. In the debug logs, I see "PHONET: Message buffer overun - resetting" line.
