Blueman does not find devices out of the box (Slackware 15).

OS: Slackware 15.0 (fresh install)
HW: Thinkpad X61s + Logitech M555b

Symptom:

1. Open Blueman applet from the system tray.
2. Search devices.
3. No devices are found.

Solution:

1. Open a terminal.
2. Using bluetoothctl, manually search the device.

Code:
$ bluetoothctl
[bluetooth]# scan on
[bluetooth]# pair (MAC address)
3. And then re-open blueman-applet. Now I can see the device and connect to it.

Question:

1. Why does not blueman applet find any devices from the beginning?

Somewhere in Slackware current before 15 stable, bluetooth devices no longer would stay connected. I can still find devices but unsure I can still connect/pair them, or at least they don't stay connected.

There have been a few glitches in bluez-5.63 and there have been lots of changes in the github master branch after the release date in January.

You could try downgrade to bluez-5.62 (can be found at http://slackware.uk/cumulative/slack...slackware64/n/ ) or rebuild bluez using the latest source files from https://github.com/bluez/bluez/ and see if this solves your issue.
