/bin/sh and RPM SOLVED!

Hi,

I'm trying to install Win4LinPro-5.0-65022.i386.rpm in Slackware 12.1 and I'm running into a small problem (I think).

First I tried rpm2tgz and pkgtool. pkgtool acts as though it's installing, but nothing happens.

Then I tried KPackage. I keep getting the error that Win4Lin-5.0... requires /bin/sh, but that this is an failed dependency.

I then tried from the command line:

root@darkstar0:~# rpm -ivh /home/joegumbo/Win4LinPro-5.0-65022.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
/bin/sh is needed by Win4LinPro-5.0-65022
root@darkstar0:~# /bin/sh

This is the only unmet dependency listed for W4L in KPackage.

Is there some way I can pass /bin/sh to W4L when installing from the CL?

Btw, I see a link at /bin/sh to bash.

Thanks,
-Joe

try converting them to tgz by using rpm2tgz
or even better, try compiling it from source and make the SlackBuilds script

Hi Willysr!

I did try using rpm2tgz, but that did not give me an installable package. Unfortunately, W4L does not seem to provide a source file.

Thanks,
-Joe

--nodeps

Try this:

rpm -ivh --nodeps /home/joegumbo/Win4LinPro-5.0-65022.i386.rpm
