Thanks Adam, did bit Google, seems like ATI driver doesn't pick up "PreferredMode" that well, but running following command after X loaded up can get what I expected! one stretched desktop with 2 monitor have 1920x1200. see screen dump I attached.

xrandr --output DFP1 --mode 1920x1200 --pos 0x0 output DFP2 --mode 1920x1200 --pos 1920x0
guess I have to run above command every time after X loaded up before I figure out what's wrong with my xorg.conf exactly or can I make a script somewhere to run above xrandr command to adjust the mode everytime it reboots. any idea how to do that or any better advise ? Thanks!

You can put that command in a script, make the script executable, and then add it to your kde session via systemsettings --> advanced --> autostart.
