After Upgrading to KDE 3.2.1, And System Re-Install

I have recently up-graded my system to KDE 3.2.1 using swaret. Afterwards, I was unable to get kdeinit to run, therefore, I made the decision to re-install and upgrade at that time to current, in thinking that it was an issue of failing to install a library or (?) that was required for the KDE 3.2.1 upgrade.

Everything seems ok, but I need to "re-run" the KDE script which allows me the opportunity to change my monitor settings to include manufacturer, refresh rates, and display resolution. I have in the past used my root account, and choosing peripherals within the control center program to makes these changes. However, it seems this option is "gone". I am not able to make the desired changes and thought I would seek some assistance.

Is this a bug of sorts, or has KDE changed the location or ability to "re-run" these scripts? Has anyone else run into this issue, hopefully so.

Thanks!

I was thinking more along the lines of what was available when after a re-install the gui based scripts allow one to choose the manufacturer, model, etc of the monitor in use. Although my SPECIFIC monitor was not listed, it did give me the opportunity to try different settings and enable the setting that suited this monitor the best. Editing without knowing what is "available" to "choose from" from KDE's database is difficult because I am unable to determine what my monitor's specific ranges are after visiting my manufacturer's website. (go figure! it's a G220f viewsonic -NEW!). This is what I am given :

2048x1536 maximum resolution
Displays a maximum resolution of 2048x1536; 1600x1200 resolution at 87Hz flicker-free refresh rate for easy-on-the-eyes viewing.
2048x1536 @ 68Hz
1920x1440 @ 73Hz
1856x1392 @ 75Hz
1600x1200 @ 87Hz

I have attempted to edit my /etc/X11/xf86config, it instructs me to check the monitor database, " If in doubt, check the monitor database
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/Monitors to see if your monitor is there.", however, wouldn't you know that file does NOT exist.

I appreciate your help 320mb, but where do I go from here?
