Adjust monitor output

I briefly searched for a solution but I'm not sure how to catagorize it.

I have my Slackware computer and a WinXP computer sharing a monitor through a KVM switch and have noticed an annoyance recently. When the monitor image is centered on one computer, it is off-center on the other and I have to keep readjusting the image horizontally. Is there a way to fix this through xorg or other utils?

Thanks,
Kent

Are you using the same monitor settings on each? (color depth/screen size/refresh rate)

If you use the same, then the setup should work for both computers.

We have a winner!

That's the cause. The video settings were different on each PC.

Thanks.

You can use xvidtune (just type xvidtune and hit enter). You can change the settings and test them with "Test" button. Then click "show" to get the output in the terminal window and copy it to your X configuration file like xorg.conf.
