access mode problem
Hi all
I am a newbie running Slackware10.2. I also have two FAT32 partitions and their entry in the /etc/fstab is like this
**********
/dev/hda14 /mnt/hd/MAGIC-STORE vfat uid=1000,gid=100 1 0
/dev/hda15 /mnt/hd/MULTIMEDIA vfat uid=1000,gid=100 1 0
**********
Any folder & file that I create in my home directory has the access right 755 & 644 respectively, which is OK with me.
Any folder created in /mnt/hd/MAGIC-STORE has access right 755, but new files created, also seem to have 755 permission, NOT 644. Why is that so??
Moreover all other files which were already in this partition long before I installed Linux, are also shown to have 755 permission!!
So.. what is going on?? as far as I know the default umask value on my system is 0022.
Thanks
