Unhappy a problem with flex

I have discovered that the newer version of flex does not return EOF.
The older verson on my Atari does return a 1..

What do I need to do to get an EOF I need to have flex return a symbol .

Peehaps a silly question, but have you looked at the EOF processing section in the manual? It does mention some recent changes in flex EOF handeling.

There is no manual. I never received one.

Open a terminal window and type
Code:
man flex
Most Linux commands are documented on-line, with either the "man" command or, for more recent commands, the "info" command.

Oh, to see how to use the "man" command, type
Code:
man -?
For other commands,
Code:
<whatever> --help
is often better. ("<whatever>" is, of course, the actual name of the command for which you want some help.)

I will look into info and man. Thanks. The older version has a 'manula' in the zoo file. None of this tells me how to return EOF or some specialized value.
thanks for the help
