Man, I'm going to job. Sucks for me! :P

We talk tomorrow, if you still have problems, now I'm ready to run.

A quick note: if you try to use "--enable-gallium-radeon", it's fine to remove the Radeon X.org driver, because the DDX is provided (and override) this thing.

Another idea, verify TO BE SURE (Google it), wich 3D driver use your video card. We should be sure that is R300.

BTW, even the things not works fine, now you have a software render 10 times faster. That's can be called some "good bad news", right?

10 times faster? I still get 200fps in glxgears... I know its not exactly a performance benchmark, but shouldn't i be able to see some more fps if that is the case?

Also: I disabled KMS and tried to run X again - it would crash. I had to downgrade to slackware-current packages for libdrm,mesa,xf86-video-ati to get X working again. So I'm back stuck with that.

do you make anything of this 'double' configuration that is run from mesa.Slackbuild (once llvm is set to no and then set to yes) from my previous post?

Thank you for helping me out!

Please understand that all these updates of xf86-video-ati and mesa aren't going to make one bit of difference to getting KMS working. The error is coming from the kernel, long before xf86-video-ati or mesa even touch the graphics card.
