2.6 Kernel not Compiling

Several errors occurred when I attempted the 2.6.11.9 kernel compilation. Every one of them was due to one of the following errors:
Code:
: undefined reference to 'cpu_2_node'
: undefined reference to 'node_2_cpu_mask'
: undefined reference to 'xportio'
What am I missing? Is it bad that I used the Linux kernel from kernel.org?

It gave a single error about not being able to stat 'apm.ko', since the file or directory didn't exist. The install quit, too.

Do a search for apm.ko and if you don't need it do menuconfig and remove it and try again.good luck

It was for the advanced power management, which I disabled.

The error is in driver/built-in.o. I don't think this kernel will work for me.

EDIT: Is it possible to save the output of 'make' to a text file?

I got both install commands to work. Now, how would I edit the kernel module loading to reflect the new built-in libraries that replace many of those modules? That is, now that many of the modules are a part of the kernel, how would I change the module loading file, wherever it may be?
