It's [probably] really not that bad buddy, you probably just didn't make an entry into your boot loader to boot another OS. First we need to know which boot loader you chose to install during the RH install, GRUB or LILO?
I don't know. I just went through the install... dude im flipping out here... You know where u do somethign and you get that uneasy feeling like you in deep **** well thats how i feel right now
Yeah, relax, you should be OK, assuming you didn't overwrite all your info. IF you did, like you said, the worst that will happen is you'll need to reinstall winbloze.
That's why we need to see what your fdisk -l output is, and then to also verify what's getting seen during the install/boot time with /etc/fstab
Hopefully you will still have a fat/ntfs partition (which fdisk -l will tell us) and then we will simply setup your bootloader to show it at boot time.
Some ways to find out what bootloader you used, see if you have LILO installed on your system:
whereis lilo
OR
find lilo
OR
locate lilo (after running updatedb)
Anyway, if lilo is there, and there is an /etc/lilo.conf file, I'd guess it's lilo (and I hope it is since that's all I know how to work with)
ok... can u walk me through this step by step im a real noob to linux heh but 1 problem... My computer did not come with windows install disks it just came w/ recoverary disks that format the drive and reinstall wndows w/ what came on ti when i bought the comkp....
Sure, but since you double posted, I randomly thought all responses should be posted in the linux-general section for now, so head over there for a beginning on this step by step help.
And try not to double post anymore, some of the mods get upset, and it really makes for a hard time helping you, no one knows what you've already tried, might be getting the same answers in both threads, and many more possibilities.
