axis 2100 network camera scripting

hey everyone, this might be an unusual subject but here is my situation. i have a webcam that i run for an organization i work with and i would like this camera to be able to be on or off whenever someone wants. i.e. access the camera somehow to activate a script (which i know can be done because it runs embedded linux and has scripting) and turn off the stream and then later turn it back on.

does anyone know how to do this at all? i've had fairly little experience with scripting, most of my expereince has been in php/sql.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks
