Dell studio 14 sound

I am facing similar sound problem with my dell studio 14.
Distro:- OpenSUSE 11.2

1. there is no file called alsa-conf in /etc/modprobe.d/
2. there is no file called modprobe.conf in /etc/modprobe.d/

however there is a 50-sound.conf whose contents are :-
Code:
options snd slots=snd-hda-intel,snd-hda-intel
# u1Nb.LksDhqYAia6:82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
# NXNs.XMhOB+x1BbB:R700 Audio Device [Radeon HD 4000 Series]
alias snd-card-1 snd-hda-intel
