Hello all,
I have been trying installing RedHat Linux AS 4 on HP Prliant ML 350 G5. Have made a RAID 5 array of 274 GB of SAS drives. But during the installation, anaconda fails saying "No Valid Devices found". Now how to make it recognize the array.
I tried searching over the net and somewhere I found that probably Update 2 is required for it to handle HP Smart Controller.
Can anyone provide me any link to Update 2, if required and also the procedure to how to deploy it during the fresh installation of RHEL 4 on the server.
Thanks to all
Amit

One suggestion first; before installation (sorry, not looking at RHEL4 installation stuff right now), there should be an option to load kernel modules, somewhere. Try loading the megaraid_old, then the megaraid modules, then continue with your installation.
Had this problem with an old server we had here, and that did the trick. You will have to manually load those modules later, during the first system reboot, then make a new boot image with those in it (look at the mkinitrd command...not difficult), but things should work.
up2date is pointless unless you already have RH AS already installed. If you provide the make and model of the controller these SAS drives are on with the RAID Array might help.
You probably need to provide the drivers during installation time to support them, etc. But the above link is just an example I found, make sure you download the correct drivers to provide during install time.
