Question Ubuntu 6.10 Problem Printing to SMB Printer

Hi,

I've been able to print from my Ubuntu 6.10 desktop to a shared printer on a Windows XP machine before. AFAIK, nothing has changed, but today, when I try to print a test page (or anything) to that printer, it doesn't work.

If I go to the CUPS web admin at http://localhost:631/printers/LaserJet1012 (I know you won't be able to see my printer; the link is there for completeness), the printer shows the error "Unable to connect to CIFS host, will retry in 60 seconds..."

I don't know what to do - if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.

Thanks.

Update: Now, the error message reads "/usr/lib/cups/backend/smb failed".

Are you able to print from another computer without a problem or is this network wide issue?

It was an issue with the network configuration on my computer (not a network-wide issue or a problem with the Windows computer I wanted to print to).
