Need some help finding some files that I want to mod... Can you help
Hello, I am modding PCLinuxOS and there are a few bits where I could do with a hand.
1) Does anybody know where the files are kept that are used to launch the "PCLinuxOS Menu Editor", this would also be the same as where the files for the "Mandrake (or Mandriva) Menu Editor" would be kept.
2) Probably an easy one to answer (but I just cant find it anywhere) where is the little icon from the top right of Konqueror kept.
3) Also looking for the files associated with the "PCLinuxOS Info Tool" also prob the same as "Mandrake (or Mandriva) Info Tool".
If you can answer any of the questions above... Thanks

Hi sorry, that was a little inconciderate of me.
to edit the Mandrake Control Center to your linux Control Center
open /usr/sbin/drakconf.real & /usr/lib/menu/DrakConf
with your text editor and find all bits that refer to mandrake or mandriva and change them to your own linux name
to edit the Mandrake Info Tool
open /usr/bin/cfg2html with your text editor and there is one bit near the top in a block of writing that referes to mandrake or mandriva just change that to your distro name.
to edit the menu editor
open /usr/share/menudrake/menudrake.glade with your text editor and change any bits that refer to Mandrake or Mandriva again to your own distro name.
Change the "Welcome to Mandrake Linux" message on boot
open /etc/mandrake-release with your text editor and just change the name of the distro from mandrake to your distor name.
There are also 2 other files that need editing for this but kde crashes if you try and open them where they are so
copy /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit & /etc/rc.d/rc.local to somewhere where you can easily work on them now open both files and change any bits that refer to mandrake or mandriva to your distro name and when finnished coppy them back to there original place.
After you have done this restart your pc and press esc for verbose mode and you shold see the message

/usr/share/apps/kdm/pics/shutdown.png
I cant remember where the picture is that is displayed when you click shut down at the kde login screen... but i was looking at it the other day so I will find it again soon
