try "java classname.class" or "java classname"

It is "java classname". Using the latest Sun java packages the other way does not work.

Hi,

i also had problems with java several days ago. i installed JRE1.5.0_09 with the kernel 2.4.32, and it didn't work, switched to JRE 1.4.2_13, and it worked perfectly. you might want to notice that i think also.

so is there any connection that java 1.5 is for kernel 3.6 or something?

Nope, I've used 1.5.x of Sun's JRE with a 2.4 kernel.
