Hi Abyteapart,

I'm no expert and its been a while since I've played around with SAMBA, but I remember there being options in smb.conf about making the share writable and browseable. Would you mind posting your smb.conf file for us to look at.

sorry for the late reply,

This is my (simple) smb.conf file
[global]
workgroup = PENGUINS
security = share

[Dave]
path = /home/Dave
read only = no
guest ok = yes

that's it!

FIXED!!!!

and here's how.....

this is the entry in my fstab file

This is what I think the above line means...
