Yum Repository

I have to setup an internal yum respository and I have never done it and can not find a decent howto on the net. Has anyone ever done this and if so did they document it?

Hey, thanks that site was a big help. However I followed all the steps and it worked great except for the rsync part, I get this error:

rsync -avrt rsync://distro.ibiblio.org/fedora-linux-core/updates/5/i386 --exclude=debug/ /var/www/html/yum/updates/
rsync: failed to connect to distro.ibiblio.org: Connection refused (111)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(99)

any ideas?

I was just able to connect to that repository, but you are missing the closing '/':

rsync -avrt rsync://distro.ibiblio.org/fedora-linux-core/updates/5/i386/ --exclude=debug/ /var/www/html/yum/updates/

The closing slash on the source means the contents of that directory, not the directory itself.

rsync_proxy is my friend.....

1. Which linux do you use?
2. By 'internal yu repository', do you mean the packages on your installation disc, like you want to create repository out of them?

If I know these, I might be able to help you out!
