JDK 8u131 is Now Available

All --

If it matters, Oracle jdk-8u131 was released Tue Apr 18

Builds, installs and runs JAVA APPS fine with the Official Slackware java.Slackbuild which can be found in your ~/slackware64-14.2/extra/source/java/ directory

However, maybe it's time I finally let go of FireFox and 'get with the program':

Java plug-in does not work in Firefox after installing Java

sigh ...

Why is it that so many recent upstream 'improvements' involve a loss of functionality ?

Code:
# ls -la /home/dld/slackware/slackware-14.2-64/extra/source/java # my local repo

-rw-r--r-- 1 4015 4015 654 Jul 30 2012 README
-rwxr-xr-x 1 4015 4015 5687 Aug 2 2012 java.SlackBuild
drwxr-xr-x 2 4015 4015 4096 Jul 30 2012 profile.d
-rw-r--r-- 1 4015 4015 822 Dec 18 2010 slack-desc.jdk
-rw-r--r-- 1 4015 4015 864 Jul 10 2012 slack-desc.jre

Thanks, ponce already pushed this change on his branch and will be part of next public update (which should be in less than 12h from now)

Thanks for the info willysr.

Now I'll have to look at the SBo SlackBuild vs the one Pat provides under the extra/ directory

I don't know, I was trying Vivaldi for a while (Chromium based), but I'm back to Firefox once again
