REQ: A way to install Debian from 3 joined dvd's.

Currently Debian Wheezy comes on 3 dvd's. Is there a way to join these dvd's into one big .iso to install from a 64gb usb flash drive?

If you have an internet connection, use the netinstall. I've used it several times, and it's worked perfectly each time.

It would be safest to do it using a wired connection, even if you intend to use wireless once you are up and running.

Generally speaking, all three DVDs are only needed if you have no internet connection at all.

You can install the base system from the first DVD, this will leave you with a sources.list containing the other DVDs -- you can then install the rest of the software you want from these DVDs using `apt-get` or `aptitude` (or synaptic, I suppose).

No easy answer that I know of for this. I think your best approach is to create a custom live hybrid-iso (suitable for usb sticks), using livebuild tools with an excessively large pool/ directory with all your packages pulled from your dvds. I can't give precise instructions, I don't know how to do it myself. The livebuild manual would be the best starting point:

http://live.debian.net/manual/4.x/ht...manual.en.html
