How can I open forbidden sites like facebook in ubuntu 12.04 ?
Hi guys
In my country some of sites are forbidden like facebook and youtube . I am on Ubuntu 12.04 . I tried to install tor browser but it doesn't work . If someone knows a good vpn Or anyway for seeing this sites , introduce me please.
regards
I've heard of proxies doing it or a VPN (Virtual Private Network) but TOR is to keep you secure and hiding so it blocks holes like Flash but it is supposed to work for FB according to some sources (How to Successfully Access Facebook in China - wikihow.com,) what "country?"

Best solution for you: move
Please read the LQ Rules regarding such things:

Essentially, you're asking how to circumvent network security where you live. And while censorship of any type is a bad thing, the fact is, you have chosen to live where you do, and you're subject to those laws/rules. So either move, or gain political power and change the laws.

Very easy to say in a free, Western society. Some countries (like the one the OP resides, I assume) do not allow their nationals to move out (legally), nor give them the opportunity to change anything in their (political) circumstances. The Muslim world is regretfully a prime example (amongst many others!) And frankly, the OP did NOT choose to live there, (s)he was (assumingly) born there so as such your remark is highly inappropriate
Having said that, the request does violate LQ rules so I assume it'll be locked and removed pretty soon. In the mean time, Google is your friend

Sorry, but I know numerous people here in the US from Iran, Iraq, and Syria. All of them made it all the way to the US, so it *CAN* be done. Making it to other countries in Europe is even easier.
And the entire attitude of "They can't change anything, ever" is highly inappropriate...the people in any country can change anything, anytime they choose, if they want to pay the price for it. Yes, easier said than done...but that does not, in any way, change the facts; the OP can either leave, or effect change. Those are the things in their power. Whether it's easy or not isn't the issue.

Yes, it should be locked and removed, as these threads always are.

Just because some people have left a particular country doesn't mean that everyone else who lives in that country is doing so by choice.
Unfortunately circumvention of network restrictions isn't a valid topic for LQ.
Do note there's other forums on the 'net that may answer your question in more detail.
@All: In the scope of a technical question, making assumptions about ones willingness or choice wrt oppressive regimes, or suggesting somebody to migrate or make political changes as an "answer" are irrelevant, off-topic and possibly insulting as well. Please do not do that again.
