I downloaded the latest RTL-8169 gigabit driver from Realtek's site:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&Software=True
It build and installed without a peep but the card stopped working.
I use a Mandrake 10.1 distribution with a 2.6.x kernel. The network card I use is a TrendNet TEG-PCITXR.
It worked without driver installation at first but then it seemed to use another 100 mbit driver instead (RTL-8139), which was odd. Maybe the gigabit chip is somehow backward compatible.
Does anyone have the RTL-8169 up and running with a Linux 2.6.x driver?
