Hello all,
Been searching a solution the entire day without success and have tried everything without risking to much my data and still cannot mount /
Some info.. been using my slackware laptop without any booting problems for about a month since yesterday when i mounted a vfat floppy disk to copy a file into linux. When i rebooted next day i had a whole bunch of errors..
I'm using a laptop with Slackware 8.1, have three partitions:
hda1 for /
hda5 for swap
hda6 for backup
The errors are:
*When booting normally..
FAT: bogus logical sector size 2109
FAT: bogus logical sector size 2109
read_super_block: can't find a reiserfs filesystem on (dev 03:01, block 64, size 1024)
read_super_block: can't find a reiserfs filesystem on (dev 03:01, block 8, size 1024)
Kernel Panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:01
*When i boot using the slacware (somehow worked doing 'bare.i root=/dev/hda2 noinitr" when i have no hda2..) i'm able to mount hda6 (my backup partition) but cannot mount hda1 (my / partition)
ie when..
mkdir /mnt/hd1
mount -t ext2 /dev/hda1 /mnt/hd1
.. i get .. wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda1, or too many mounted file systems
Can all this be caused by simply mounting a vfat floopy?? What is with reiserfs, my / is ext2.. how can i fix this??
I'm sure for some of you this is very easy to solve..
Thanks in advance!
