Write permissions for external hard drive
I have an external hard drive, and it recently crashed. I reformatted it, and it is working fine. I tried to use it in FC3 with kernel 2.6.9-1.667, but I am having a problem setting permissions. I have an entry in my fstab for the drive, and I have it mount to /media/usbdisk. The directory usbdisk has chmod 775, and so does /dev/sda and /dev/sda1, my drive is listed as sda1. My username kg4ysy owns the drive, but it whenever I mount it, the permissions are changed to 755. I would like to be able to write to my drive. My fstab entry for my hard drive is as follows:
/dev/sda1 /media/usbdisk vfat <here i have tried typing nothing, and typing 'rw,user'>
Does anyone have any ideas? I would really like to get this working
Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
