really urgent x problem


Hey all after a powercut my machine will now nolonger start x this is what it says

(==) Using config file "/etc/X11/XF86Config-4"
USing vt 7
(EE) R128(0): No DFP detected
Could not init font path element unix/:-1, removing from list!

Fatal server error:
could not open default font `fixed`

XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connectiong reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.


i have a uni assignment due in tomorow and i need X up to finish it

if anyone can help me i'd me eternally grateful

are you installing from source?, it sounds like its one of the font lib problems, so id sugest geting the xlibs and installing them , if its from source then you need to recompile i think

x was just installed during the standard mandrake installation and its been running fine up until now also ive just noticed my / partition is completely full could that caus a problem?

probly not, if it was configured right, so yes, no dsik space could be a problem, might wanna start freeing stuff up

yeh it was the hard disk being full, when X starts it writes to a file in the folder .ICE-unix as the hard disk was full it couldnt write to it cleared the hdd and it was fine
