Unhappy DNSMASQ Wont expand hosts

I have set up dnsmasq and have chosen the domain suffix 46masthouse.co.uk, lame but accurate :-)

All works well except wont expand names properly,

e.g. www.46masthouse.co.uk works, even www. (notice the full stop) works but plain www (NO full stop) does not.

Any ideas how I can get it to expand the names properly?

I have set up the following entries in my hosts file

hosts:

127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.0.1 www.46masthouse.co.uk www
192.168.0.10 test.46masthouse.co.uk test
192.168.251.128 download.46masthouse.co.uk download

dnsmasq conf:

domain-needed
bogus-priv
filterwin2k

local=/46masthouse.co.uk/
domain-suffix=46masthouse.co.uk
expand-hosts
domain=46masthouse.co.uk

Thanks

From the /etc/dnsmasq.conf file.. v 2.19
Code:
# Set the domain for dnsmasq. this is optional, but if it is set, it
# does the following things.
# 1) Allows DHCP hosts to have fully qualified domain names, as long
# as the domain part matches this setting.
# 2) Sets the "domain" DHCP option thereby potentially setting the
# domain of all systems configured by DHCP
# 3) Provides the domain part for "expand-hosts"
#domain=thekelleys.org.uk
Comment 3 says it all.. You will get expand-hosts with a domain name..
