http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/...iki:Talk_Pages has been added to the wiki. I am still working on the help section, but if you see anything you think is missing please let me know.

Jeremy - any thoughts on moving the "preview warning" out of the actual preview in the Wiki (when you click show preview button) - maybe put it above, outside the actual preview so its still there, but doesn't distract from evaluating the actual preview - noticed it made matters more difficult particularly when assessing formating.

Skyline,

Right now it should appear above any actual content. I'd like to leave it as obvious as possible to prevent any accidental data loss.

Jeremy - any guidance for members on whether we should put our moniker names in, or leave them out, if you've created a Wiki sub-section etc - given that its a collaborative effort and there's tons of work to do, would it just be best if we left them out completely. (just to clarify for everyone)

I am working on the style guide now, but you should always leave them out. Most pages will be edited by many users and the system already keeps track of who did what.

BTW, thanks to those members who are already adding content. What do you think so far?

Thanks for clarifying - as to the current state - looking good so far - early days - am enjoying getting the distributions section going for now.

Jeremy - any guidance on distribution descriptions in the WIki - currently using short descriptions from the distribution's homepage - reasoning is simply that, that's how they're currently describing their own distributions in their own words - is this ok for now?

I'd say it's fine for now. It'll grow as more people start to use it.

I'd like to thank david_ross who put a ton of work into getting the wiki up and running (and looking good) and trickykid for doing the logo.

I think it's growing fast and it's going to turn out awesome.

It's a whole bunch of knowledge flowing into the site and being thrown down on "paper". I likey

Peace,
Whitehat

Another question ... curently the commands are just
underlined ... how would you make them a link, so
you can add info (like examples) to a certain topic?

Find is one of my all-time-favourites and WIDELY
underestimated ... I'd love to add find-specific
examples to the Wiki ... :}

Cheers,
Tink

Tink,

The usernames are disjunct from LQ. This was a conscious decision to keep the sites someone separated (ie. I didn't want you to have to create a forum login to participate in the wiki). The help section should assist you with all the layout/linking/etc issues:
