I have installed Oracle on my Rh 9.0 and it works fine._
As I have not an available harware to test fedora I update partialy Rh 9
and Oracle database works find but all interactive program using Java
stop to work symbol __libc_wait not defined in file libc.so.6 !!!
nicolas, what exactly does "update partially" mean ?
My feeling is that if you were doing ok running it on RH9 you won't gain much even if you do get it running on Fedora....you might be better off sticking with RH9.
By partially update I mean I did it manualy package by package. For exemple I run with glibc-2.3.2-101 on Rh 9.0 ...
The full story is I would like to use PHP with Oracle but to do that you need to recompile php with --with-oci8 and --with-oracle. At on step the sytem request to get the latest libc etc....
So the dabase is working find, probleme come from JRE-118 in fact. I try to setup Oracle to use the latest JRE from sun but I get the message that Oracle must run only with JRE 118 !
I try to find a java package 118 working with glibc-2.3.2. I heard some thing about blackdown.org
