To install Damn Small Linux to the HD...

From the damn small desktop (no pun intended) ...

Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get to SU root outside X.

Type "dsl-hdinstall" (a mod off Knoppix's knx-hdinstall)...

Follow the prompts... (cfdisk, etc.......)

I've done it & tested it -- works.

jamd. it's small (1 cd), installed in 15 minutes, and is faster than redhat 9 (at least on my machine). its also somethingorother (optimized?) for i686.
